Arsenal new boy Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confessed that he only signed for Arsenal because his old friend Henrikh Mkhitaryan did too.
The Gabon hitman joined the Gunners for a club-record fee of £60million — a week after former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Mkhitaryan arrived from Manchester United.
And Aubameyang admitted: “He called me a few times and asked, ‘Will you come or not?’
“I said, ‘First you have to tell me if you signed or not’.
“He told me it was all done — and of course it was a big factor in me coming here.
“It’s like being reunited with a brother, a good friend. We played together in the past and I’m really happy to see him again.”

The striker was on target on his Arsenal debut, while Mkhitaryan provided three assists in the 5-1 thumping of Everton on Saturday.
Aubameyang, speaking to Arsenal.com, added: “We understand each other on and off the pitch, that’s why it’s easier on the pitch.
“[The fans] have to be happy [to see us together], we will do our best of course, like we did in the past.”
“We know each other on and off the pitch.”
