Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has confirmed there is “truth” in reports of interest in him from Tottenham and Manchester United.
Perez has scored four goals in 15 Premier League appearances for Newcastle this season, including the winner at Spurs earlier this month, though he has not started since the 3-0 defeat to Leicester City on November 21.
Despite his relative lack of action, the 22-year-old appears in no rush to leave St James’ Park.
Speaking to Radio Club Tenerife, Perez said: “There is truth in the talk about interest in me. It’s rewarding for me.
“There is much in the interest from Tottenham and Man United, but my place is at Newcastle.”
Perez, who has also been linked with Arsenal, scored seven goals in 36 Premier League appearances for Newcastle last season following a £1.5million move from Tenerife.
