Less than 24 hours after selling De Bruyne to Manchester City, the Bundesliga club have confirmed the signing of fellow Belgian Azzaoui for an undisclosed fee.
The 17-year-old has represented his country up to under-17 level but never featured in the Premier League for Spurs, playing instead in their youth team.
“We’ve been following Azzaoui’s progress for a long time now,” said Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs on his club’s website.
“He’s a young player with plenty of potential who we expect to break into our first-team in the mid-term.
“We will get a more precise and complete picture of his current level over the next few weeks and will then decide which of our teams [first team or reserves] he will begin playing in.”
