Gareth Bale: Injured in Real Madrid's win over Shakhtar Donetsk

Sergio Ramos dislocated his shoulder during Real Madrid’s win over Shakhtar Donetsk – but both he and Gareth Bale should be fit in two weeks.

Ramos landed heavily inside the Shakhtar penalty area in the 4-0 Champions League cruise on Tuesday night, visiting hospital the following morning.

Real said: “Following the tests carried out on Sergio Ramos today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with dislocated acromioclavicular joint in his left shoulder. His condition will be evaluated.”

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in the win over Shakhtar, but Bale was substituted after just half an hour with an ankle injury.

The Wales forward is due to undergo a scan on Thursday but is said to be hopeful of facing Malmo in the Champions League on September 30. Real are hopeful that both he and Ramos will be fit for the crunch La Liga meeting with Atletico Madrid later that week on October 4.
