Gareth Bale: Currently sidelined with a calf injury

Gareth Bale’s agent has dismissed a report that Real Madrid are considering selling the Welshman over his fitness record.

Bale is currently sidelined with a calf injury he suffered amonth ago, during which time the forward has missed six matches.

According to AS, Bale’s current injury is the 11th he has suffered since moving to the Bernabeu from Tottenham in a world-record deal in 2013.

The Madrid-based outlet claim “a section of the Real hierarchy are beginning to weigh up the option of selling the Welshman this summer.”

However, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett responded: “It’s a completely rubbish story made by an irresponsible and totally ill-informed journalist.”

If Bale was to become available, Manchester United and Chelsea would be at the head of the queue of clubs looking to bring the 26-year-old back to the Premier League.
