Balotelli accuses ‘horrible’ Bastia fans of racism
Nice striker Mario Balotelli has taken to Instagram to claim he was a victim of racist abuse in the 1-1 draw against Bastia on Friday.
The Italian played the full game on his return from suspension, but he shared a strong message on the Bastia fans to his millions of followers.
“Is it normal that Bastia supporters make monkey noises for the whole game and nobody from the ‘discipline commission’ says anything?,” Balotelli said via social media.
“So is racism legal in France? Or only in Bastia? Football is an amazing sport, but people like Bastia supporters make it horrible. Truly a disgrace.”
The Italian’s Instagram message also was shared by Nice on the club’s Twitter account. The French league’s disciplinary panel is yet to comment.
