The match looked like it was heading for a draw when Bradford’s Joe Colbeck picked up a loose ball in the Mariners’ penalty area before firing a low shot into the far corner to send the home fans delirious.

Grimsby went in front after eight minutes when Peter Till turned the ball into the net at the far post from Ciaran Toner’s cross.

But City’s leading-scorer Peter Thorne equalised in the 62nd minute when he intercepted Tom Newey’s back-pass before firing in.

And Colbeck then completed the fine comeback with a last-gasp winner.
