Laporte faces competition from Josep Maria Bartomeu, Jordi Majo and Agusto Benedito in the race for the presidency and, as the PR war continues, has dropped a big hint he would attempt to sign Pogba from Juventus if elected.
“Pogba would be a great signing,” he told Catalunya Radio.
“He really is a very strong player. He is still young and has the desire to join Barcelona.
“I have a great relationship with his agent, Mino Raiola. If we decide to try to sign Pogba, he will definitely be a great intermediary.”
Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be interested in Pogba, but the 22-year-old France international has previously admitted it would be “a dream come true” to play alongside Barca star Lionel Messi.
