Barcelona have registered a staggering 77 players following the expiration of their transfer embargo.
FIFA imposed a 14-month transfer ban for breaching rules regarding the acquisition and movement of players under the age of 18, but that ban has now finished and the Catalans have been busy registering players throughout all their age groups.
Luis Enrique’s first-team squad has been boosted by the availability of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal, who were signed last summer, from Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, respectively. The pair are now eligible to make their belated Blaugrana debuts.
However, as well as strengthening Enrique’s squad, last season’s treble winners have also snapped up another 75 players across the club’s six-tier, 16-team academy with the club’s ‘B’ team bolstered by six new arrivals alone: Jokin Ezkieta, Moi Delgado, Chemi, Robert Goncalves and Dani Romera.
Daniel Gudjohnsen, the son of former Barca and Chelsea striker Eidur, is among the new recruits registered by Barca for their U10s at La Masia academy.
