Barca twitter account hacked as they ‘announce’ Di Maria signing

Barcelona’s twitter account was hacked in the early hours of Wednesday morning as they ‘announced’ the signing of Angel di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain.

With only nine days to go until the end of the transfer window, the club’s fans will be glued to social media channels in anticipation of a big signing.

And one name heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou is former Real Madrid winger Di Maria, who is one of a number of names being linked to Barca as a potential replacement for Neymar.

Neymar left in a world-record deal worth £200million and early on Wednesday morning it appeared that the Catalan giants had made a breakthrough in the transfer market.

The tweet read: “Welcome Angel Di Maria to FC Barcelona! #DiMariaFCB.”

However, the club soon confirmed they had been the victims of a hack and apologised on social media.

“Hi FC Barcelona, it’s OurMine (Security Group), please contact us – ourmine.org ->.

“Contact Us, and sorry for the hoax.”

And it turns out that the same messages had been posted to Barcelona’s other social media platforms as well.
