Philippe Coutinho: Concerns growing for Liverpool

World Cup-winning Brazil defender Lucio has urged Philippe Coutinho to snub Barcelona and stay at Liverpool for the good of his career.

Lucio, 37, says Liverpool playmaker Coutinho would end up “filling in here and there” if he decided to make the move to the Nou Camp.

Coutinho, 23, has been linked to the Catalan giants and also with their La Liga rivals Real Madrid, but has stated his happiness with life at Anfield.

“If it was my decision, I would stay. If I was Coutinho, I would not leave Liverpool,” Lucio told IBTimes UK.

“Barcelona have several star players like [Lionel] Messi, [Luis] Suarez and Neymar.

“If Coutinho joins Barcelona, he has to play wherever the coach wants him to play, which would be to fill in here and there.”
