Carlo Ancelotti says Bayern Munich are “ready” to make a move for Alexis Sanchez this summer if Arsenal make him available.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Bayern during the summer with only a year remaining on his current contract at the Emirates.
The Gunners are unlikely to sell to another Premier League rival, which puts Bayern at the front of the queue for his services but Arsene Wenger has already insisted that Sanchez will not be sold this summer.
However, Ancelotti admits his club are prepared to act if there is a possibility of doing a deal with the Gunners for the Chile international.
“If an opportunity comes up, the club will be ready,” the Italian told reporters in a press conference on Saturday.
Sanchez recently spoke to the media to preview the Confederations Cup final meeting with Germany and was sat alongside City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
When asked if he would be a team-mate of Bravo next season, Sanchez replied: “Good question. Right now I’m focused on the Confederations Cup. When this is finished I will see if I stay or if I go. I don’t know.”
Sanchez then confirmed he had made a decision when asked if his future was clear in his mind, adding: “Yes it’s clear, but I can’t tell you.”
He also batted down a question over his Arsenal future.
“I don’t know, my friend, I don’t know,” he told Sky Sports News when asked what the chances were of him staying put.
