Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin should be called up to the Spanish national side, according to Everton star and former team-mate Gerard Deulofeu.
Bellerin has been one of the stars of Arsenal’s season so far before succumbing to injury, and has impressed since breaking through in the second half of last season.
The Barcelona-born defender has become a mainstay in Spanish youth sides at each stage from the Under 16s to the Under 21s, but now Everton winger Deulofeu has backed him to take the next step to the senior side sometime soon.
Asked who he feels is ready to be handed a first-team opportunity, Deulofeu replied to Spanish newspaper Marca: “Bellerin. There are very good full-backs such as Mario, Carvajal or Juanfran, but Hector is very strong.
“I love him and already last year he had a great season in the Premiership. Still, it is difficult to make the leap because there are top players in the first team.”
