Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin says the Gunners have “underestimated” their Champions League rivals this season.
Defeats away to Dinamo Zagreb and at home to Olympiacos have left Arsene Wenger’s men bottom of Group F and facing an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stage.
The Gunners were beaten 2-1 in Croatia in September when Olivier Giroud was sent off and they followed that up with a crushing 3-2 home defeat to the Greeks.
Wenger’s men face leaders Bayern Munich at The Emirates on Tuesday and right-back Bellerin, who claims the Gunners have seem some complacency creep in against Dinamo and Olympiakos, says the Gunners must score against the Bundesliga giants.
“We have underestimated some of our rivals,” Bellerin told Marca.
“For one reason or another we haven’t started in the Champions League this season. Now we have two games against Bayern, but we have to score if we want to reach the next round.”
Bellerin was also asked whether influential team-mate Alexis Sanchez was at the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“It’s very difficult to say if he’s at their level but he’s close. When he gets the ball you know it’s likely to be a goal,” added the 20-year-old Bellerin.
