Besiktas willing to break bank for RVP
Van Persie has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer, and Besiktas appear ready to rival Fenerbahce in a bid to lure him to Turkey.
“If the conditions are right and if he also wants to come we are willing to make an offer even if it would push us to the limit financially,” Besiktas board member Yalcin Kaya Yilmaz told HaberTurk.
“He would really get the crowd going at the Arena and sales from season tickets and merchandise alone would be able to make back our investment.”
Thomas Muller, meanwhile, who reports have stated could replace Van Persie at Old Trafford, has described it as an “honour” to have been linked with Manchester United but expressed his happiness with life at Bayern Munich.
