Bhoys beat Spurs to claim trophy

Victory, courtesy of first-half goals by Chris Killen and Georgios Samaras, means Tony Mowbray’s men won the friendly tournament ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Dinamo Moscow and they have still not conceded a goal in four pre-season matches.

Spurs were behind after just nine minutes when Paul Caddis shifted past Benoit Assou-Ekotto on the right and whipped in a cross which Killen firmly headed past Heurelho Gomes.

And Celtic were 2-0 after 40 minutes when Dorian Dervite was caught out and Samaras sprinted half the length of the pitch before firing a drive across Gomes and into the back of the net.

Darren Bent missed Tottenham’s best openings, while Danny Fox made his first start for Celtic.
