Slaven Bilic: Desperate to fix West ham's problems

West Ham are waiting on a work permit approval before they announce the signing of a new striker, but Slaven Bilic has ruled out one name.

The Hammers have already added Andre Ayew to the squad from Swansea for a reported fee of £20m, yet they are still not finished with their summer transfer business.

On Ayew, Bilic told reporters ahead of West Ham’s opener against Chelsea: “He can be a game changer and we are happy to have signed him. He wanted to come here and you want players who want to join you.

“He was very excited about coming to West Ham. He was our target for a long time and I spoke to Dimitri Payet a few times about him.”

Bilic went on to confirm that an familiar Arsenal target is not on their radar, but another new striker is imminent.

He added: “100% we will not go for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. We will sign Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri and he will be with us pretty soon depending on the work permit.

He is a top striker and we have a good balance in the squad.”
