Bojan is recovering from a knee ligament injury he sustained during Stoke’s FA Cup win at Rochdale in January but hopes he will be fit enough to join his team-mates for pre-season training ahead of the new campaign.
“I feel good at the moment,” he told the Sentinel.
“The physio sessions are going well and I’m working really hard. I want to come back soon and come back better than before.
“We’ll have a better idea over the next few weeks how long it will be before I will be able to return to proper training or join in pre-season training.
“I want to come back in pre-season for sure and hopefully be ready as soon as possible.
“The work will not stop for me over the summer. I have to work every day and that’s what I will do.”
Bojan believes he was playing some of the best football of his career before suffering the injury, and now he wants to repay the support he has received from Stoke’s supporters during his lay-off by getting back to his best as quickly as possible.
“Yes, I felt like I was playing well when I was injured but this is life,” he added.
“It’s happened, so all that is important now is that I recover and come back stronger.
“Was that the best I had played? It was up there … it was some of the best few weeks of my life. I was very happy. Now all my focus is on getting back.
“The support I have received from Stoke fans has been amazing,” he said.
“It is so important to get that kind of love, and the reception I got when I came back for the Liverpool match was fantastic.
“I really appreciated it, and I can’t wait to be back playing in front of those supporters again.”
