Neil Lennon’s side, who will be eager to improve on their 18th place finish last season, will therefore provide the first Championship opposition for new Derby boss Paul Clement.

The Trotters first away game of the season will be at well-fancied Middlesbrough (August 15) before they have a midweek trip to MK Dons (August 18) and a home game with Nottingham Forest (August 22).

Over the festive period, Bolton will be at Rotherham on Boxing Day, before hosting Blackburn (December 28) and Huddersfield (January 2), and their season will conclude at Fulham on May 7.
