Middlesbrough are on the verge of signing Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, sources have told TEAMtalk.com
Middlesbrough have held a long-term interest in Rhodes and tried to sign him in the summer transfer window, but Blackburn rejected their overtures for their star striker.
Boro have continued to keep tabs on Rhodes and they have rekindled their interest in the Scotland international as they look to boost their hopes of winning promotion to the Premier League.
Sheffield Wednesday have also been credited with an interest in Rhodes, but it appears Boro are in pole position to land the prolific forward.
Middlesbrough are understood to have agreed a fee in the region of £9miilion with add ons and Rhodes has been given permission to leave Blackburn’s hotel ahead of their FA Cup clash against Oxford.
Rhodes has scored 11 goals for Blackburn this season and has netted 85 in total for the club since joining from Huddersfield in 2012
