Liverpool have been beaten in the race to sign Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, according to reports.

Dortmund media outlet Waz claims that the 21-year-old has snubbed a move to the Premier League in favour of a switch to fellow German side Borussia Dortmund.

The Germany under-21 international has been linked with a move to Liverpool over the last year but it appears Jurgen Klopp will now have to set his sights on other midfield options.

Dahoud only has 18 months left on his contract and it’s thought a bid of around €10million would secure his signature as there is believed to be a release clause in his deal.

The report continues by saying that Dahoud has opted to move to the Westfalenstadion as he wants to remain in Germany.
