Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg are set to offer Manchester United outcast Memphis Depay an escape route in January.
The 22-year-old Dutchman has made just three substitute appearances under Jose Mourinho this season and has found it difficult to break into United’s first team.
Memphis has struggled to make the impact he was tipped to make after his £25million move from PSV Eindhoven last year.
And German outlet Bild say Wolfsburg are weighing up a January bid for the forward.
Memphis recently admitted he will consider his future in Manchester if he isn’t given more opportunities by Jose Mourinho and there are no signs of him emerging into the first team.
“I am the same person and I know what I want,” Depay said earlier this smonth.
“A supporting role is not for me. I’m not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United.
“This is my dream club, but I want to play.”
AC Milan were reportedly keen on taking Depay, according to Tuttomercato at the start of the month.
They claimed Mourinho would allow the player to leave if he received the right offer for him.
Memphis scored 28 goals and contributed eights assists in 40 games in his final season with PSV and the Holland international was tipped for big things in England.
Memphis though has struggled to adjust to life in England and was reportedly reprimanded by former United boss Louis van Gaal over his attitude and this campaign he has found his chances at a premium.
