Nick Pope: Set for move to Clarets

Burnley have seen a bid for Charlton goalkeeper Nick Pope rejected, sources have told www.teamtalk.com.

As revealed by www.teamtalk.com last month Burnley were among a number of clubs chasing the highly-rated custodian this summer.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is keen to bring in a new goalkeeper to provide cover and competition for No.1 keeper Tom Heaton and he has made Pope his top target.

Pope was one of the few bright spots for Charlton last season in a campaign that resulted in relegation from the Championship.

Charlton are reluctant to lose the 24-year-old as they look to try and mount a bid for promotion from League One next season, but are bracing themselves for further interest in Pope.

Burnley are refusing to give up their pursuit of Pope and are expected to come back with an improved offer as they look to tempt Charlton into selling the keeper.
