The Shakers must beat Tranmere at Prenton Park and hope the Shrimpers fail to win at the Globe Arena further up the west coast to achieve a top-three finish in David Flitcroft’s first full season in charge.
Although they are the side chasing third-placed Southend, Flitcroft acknowledged he wants to be informed of how Phil Brown’s men are getting on while Bury’s game is going on.
“You need to know what’s going on,” said the ex-Barnsley boss.
“You need to know where it’s at and have as much intel as you can. On the match day you’ve got to know that intel, that detail and what’s happening.
“We will be taking care of business. The players will only need to know what they need to know as the match is going.”
