Cambridge v Accrington preview

Ryan Bird and Harrison Dunk are new injury concerns for Cambridge as they prepare to host Accrington.

Striker Bird and midfielder Dunk, who scored the U’s winning goal against Northampton, are both nursing dead legs following Monday’s match.

Defender Richard Tait (knee) and midfielder Liam Hughes (illness) were both absent at Sixfields and remain doubts ahead of this weekend, along with defender Ian Miller who also has a knee problem.

Luke Chadwick and Rory Gaffney are both still on the mend after undergoing surgery while Jordan Chiedozie, who has been on loan at Dartford, has got an Achilles injury.

John Coleman must consider whether to stick with Accrington’s 4-4-2 after that system brought an end to their eight-game winless run last time out.

Coleman admitted his hand was forced somewhat when selecting his team for the 3-1 victory over Carlisle by an injury to Matt Crooks and Terry Gornell’s suspension, which ends after next Tuesday’s trip to Hartlepool.

Adam Buxton (foot), Nicky Hunt, Gerardo Bruna, Jason Gilchrist and Sean Maguire all came in and Coleman will find it difficult to make wholesale changes again after a positive result.

Midfielder Andy Procter will definitely not feature, though, having been ruled out for the season with an ankle injury.
