Cantona reveals how Man Utd could have kept winning Prem titles

Eric Cantona has claimed that Manchester United would have kept on winning titles if they had appointed him as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor four years ago.

Ferguson called it a day after United were crowned champions in 2013, since when they suffered under David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal before Jose Mourinho’s appointment in 2016.

Cantona is still adored by United fans the world over after leading their charge towards a first top-flight title success in 26 years in 1993.

He walked away from football just four years later to become an actor, but when asked in the Sunday Mirror if he would ever return to the game the 51-year-old admitted: “No. Only to manage Manchester United.

“Only I could have made them succeed (after Fergie’s 2013 retirement). Nobody else. Only me.

“They won’t ask me. Maybe that’s why they didn’t win the Premier League.”
