Carlisle v Dag & Red preview

Carlisle are hoping both Steven Rigg and Jeffery Monkana will return to contention for the home game against Dagenham.

Attacking midfielder Rigg missed Monday’s defeat at Accrington due to a knock sustained in Friday’s home draw against Portsmouth, but is expected to return.

On-loan midfielder Monkana has missed the last two games due to a knock and recently returned to parent club Brighton for treatment.

Teenager Patrick Brough’s inclusion remains to be seen after the defender missed out against Accrington due to non-footballing matters as the Cumbrians bid for their first win in five matches.

Dagenham boss Wayne Burnett could keep faith with the same team after their 4-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.

Zavon Hines (knee) is out for the season despite returning to light training and Liam O’Brien (adductor) and Jon Nouble (knee) remain doubts.

But Burnett has also told his squad they will not be allowed to rest after almost sealing survival.

He told the club’s official site: “We had a meeting on Thursday morning and I made it quite clear that under no circumstances will I allow the players to feel the season is done. We owe it to ourselves, the supporters and the other clubs who are fighting for something.”
