Paper Talk: ‘Fury’ over Kane as preferred suitors prepare mega offer

Harry Kane TEAMtalk

All the latest on the Harry Kane situation as his preferred destination is revealed, while Tottenham are furious. And Man Utd and Man City are looking towards an Aston Villa starlet, in the papers.

SHOCK AND FURY OVER KANE

Tottenham’s players are understood to be “shocked” at Harry Kane’s decision to go public on his desire to leave the club.

Asked by Gary Neville, in an episode of The Overlap Podcast, if his career was at a crossroads, Kane said: “I think so. I think it’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club.

“Yeah, I want to be playing in the biggest games, the biggest moments…

“I hope that we can have that conversation.”

Kane did his interview with Neville at the start of the month, according to the Daily Mirror. So his intentions were clear even before this week’s leak from Sky Sports about his future. And it does not take a genius to work out the source of Sky’s Kane news, with Neville one of the broadcaster’s leading pundits.

The Mirror report that Kane’s approach has “shocked” Spurs players.

Kane was due to receive five Player of the Year awards before Wednesday night’s defeat to Aston Villa.

The club say that did not happen because of timing issues with the striker set to receive the gongs at the training ground on Friday. Heung-Min Son did get his award, but Erik Lamela will get his Goal of the Season award another time.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are ready to outbid Manchester United and Chelsea for Kane.
