Juventus have accepted an new and improved offer from Chelsea for defender Alex Sandro, according to reports.

Current left-back Marcos Alonso had an outstanding season at Stamford Bridge last term but manager Antonio Conte sees Sandro as a significant upgrade on the former Fiorentina defender.

Corriere della Sera claims that the Blues have had a bid approved by Juve for Sandro after they matched the €70 million (£61.2m) that the Serie A champions wanted for his services.

The transfer is now likely to be accelerated as Sandro had already reportedly agreed terms with Chelsea on his contract package, while he has told the Old Lady that he wants a move to west London.

The report continues by suggesting that Juventus are already lining up AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio and Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian as possible replacements for the Brazilian.

Sandro may not be the only defender to leave the Juventus Stadium this summer with Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci rumoured to be on their way out.
