Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato on loan from Corinthians for the rest of the season.
The 26-year-old shot to prominence in 2007, when he was signed by the then-European champions AC Milan, before going on to enjoy a successful six years with the Rossoneri which included winning the Scudetto in 2010/11.
“I am so happy to sign for Chelsea,” he told the club’s official website. “It is a dream for me. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know my new team-mates and cannot wait to play.
“I thank Chelsea for their support and hope I can repay this faith to the club and its fans.”
The arrival of Pato is expected to signal the departure of Loic Remy, with reports circulating that Leicester City have had an £11.5million offer accepted for the Frenchman.
