Marcos Rojo: Lucky to escape red card

The Blues are on the verge of securing their fourth Premier League crown after coming from behind to beat Leicester 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Terry and Drogba both got on the scoresheet to put the Blues in the lead after Marc Albrighton had given the Foxes hope of another victory in the first half. Ramires’ stunning strike made sure of the win in the dying moments.

After being labelled “boring” following their stalemate at Arsenal last weekend, Drogba and Terry insisted their side deserve more credit for their fine season.

“We’re almost there,” Terry told Sky Sports.

“We knew they were going to be a tough side and they were. They made it really difficult for us.

“We got a bit of a telling-off at half-time and came out and responded really well in the second half.

“We have to give the players and the manager some respect. What the manager has done in two years with these players has been different class.

“We were the best side by far up until Christmas. Okay we have had to grind out results, but the players and manager deserve a lot of respect, we have been very good all year.”

Drogba backed his captain’s claims, and believes the coverage the Blues have been getting is unfair.

“We wanted to make sure the Crystal Palace game would be the one to give us the league so we pushed and scored fantastic goals,” the striker said.

“We don’t get enough credit for the work we have been doing. We have been top of the league from the very beginning.”
