Chelsea have joined Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.
Italian news outlet Calciomercato claim the Blues will make a summer move for the former Real Madrid targetman, who ended his goal drought in midweek.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham have been tracking the 23-year-old, who scored twice in midweek against Inter Milan to end a barren run in front of goal which stretched back to October.
Gazzetta World claimed earlier this month that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was ready to splash out around £45million to secure Morata’s services ahead of their Premier League rivals, but Juve are unwilling to sell the player in the January window.
Reports claimed last week that the Arsenal and Spurs were ready to battle for the hitman before the transfer window shuts, but that is very unlikely now, but a summer transfer battle looks likely with the Premier League quartet all believed to see Morata as key to their future plans.
Morata signed for Juventus for £15.8million in July 2014, but after a steady start last term he has struggled to adjust to life in Turin and he has spoken about mental problems which have affected his game.
He has managed just one Serie A goal this term, but that has not put off his Premier League suitors, who believe the 6ft 1in frontman could have all the right credentials to make an impact in England.
