Juan Cuadrado: Was eager to leave Blues

Premier League champions Chelsea are set for a boost in their spending plans this summer thanks to Juventus’ title success, according to reports.

Chelsea claimed their fifth Premier League title this season and could be now set for a financial windfall due to the Blues’ deal with Juventus over Juan Cuadrado.

The Daily Mirror reports that when the Colombian arrived in Turin at the start of the season a clause was inserted into the forward’s contract.

The clause was said to include a £3.4million pay-out, depending on the Bianconeri’s performance this season.

It is also reported that Chelsea received an upfront loan payment of £4million for the 28-year-old at the beginning of the season, while the Old Lady will fork out another £8.4million to make a permanent deal for Cuadrado.

The Colombian international made 43 appearances for the Italian champions this season while scoring four goals and grabbing seven assists in the process.

The pay-out will certainly help with their summer transfer plans and the London club already seem to be weighing up moves for potential targets, with Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez reportedly on the club’s radar.
