Chester flattered by Prem interest

Chester is one of a number of Hull players that it has been speculated could earn instant moves back to the Premier League following the Tigers’ relegation, but the Wales defender insists he is yet to seriously consider his future.

“It’s not something I’ve thought of,” he said.

“Even though we have been relegated my ability as a player won’t change.

“I believe I’m still good enough to play in the Premier League and at international level. If I have to play my football in the Championship I’m pretty confident it won’t affect my position (in the Wales team).”

Chester, who has 12 months remaining on his contract at the KC Stadium, admitted he is flattered by the reported interest in him but will not be pushing for a transfer.

“I think other people’s interest and comments are always nice for the ego,” he added. “But they are situations and scenarios that I can’t affect.

“Unless something changes I am more than happy to be at Hull.”
