Manchester City have taken Hartlepool United youngster Jack Blackford on trial, sources have told TEAMtalk.com.
Skilful winger Blackford is highly-regarded at Hartlepool having progressed through the club’s academy from the age of nine.
Blackford’s progress at Hartlepool has not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the football pyramid with the 17-year-old catching the eye in Hartlepool’s youth sides.
The teenager has yet to make his first-team debut for Hartlepool, but he is regarded as one of the best young talents to come through the ranks at the League Two club.
Blackford enjoyed a trial stint at Aston Villa earlier this month after he caught the eye of Villa scouts and he is understood to have impressed during his time at Villa Park.
Manchester City have now joined the chase for Blackford and have taken the pacy wide man on trial so that they can have a look at him at close quarters.
Hartlepool are reluctant to lose Blackford, but are unlikely to stand in his way if any of his Premier League suitors firm up their interest in the attacker.
