Colclough could leave Crewe

However, Alex boss Steve Davis has yet to hear of any serious interest in the 20-year-old, who will be out of contract at the end of the month.

Davis has not given up hope of Colclough agreeing a new deal with the League One club.

“We are waiting on it. The offer has been there a long time and we have done what we can do,” Davis told the Crewe Chronicle.

“Now we have to wait and see whether he makes the right decision or not.

“We will listen to anybody – if someone wants to buy Ryan Colclough we will listen to them. But no-one has come in with any offers.

“He is training with us as normal and will work with the group.

“Nothing has changed, we are just waiting for him to decide what his future will be.”

Davis worries that the decision on Colclough’s future may not ultimately be made by the Crewe academy product.

He said: “I spoke to Ryan a couple of days ago and he said he was leaving it with his agent, so it doesn’t look like it will be his decision.

“It is going to be the decision of the agent, which seems to be the common thing now where the agent dominates the player and makes all the decisions.

“I don’t think they have a say which is disappointing and unfortunate – they don’t stand up for themselves and have an opinion.”

As Colclough is under the age of 24, Crewe would be due compensation from any club who wishes to sign him.
