Antonio Conte has made history by being named Premier League Manager of the Month for December.

Conte led Chelsea to six straight league victories through December during the club’s 13-game winning streak.

The Blues started the month by beating Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, before taking three points from each of West Brom, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Stoke.

It means the Italian has now been named Manager of the Month for October, November and December – the first time an individual has won it three consecutive times.

“This award shows we’re working very well,” Conte said. “December was a great month for us. It was important for the table and for our confidence.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was also nominated for the award, alongside Jose Mourinho of Manchester United and Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino.
