Corr: Timlin clash hurt to watch

Corr was standing just yards away when team-mate Timlin and Stevenage captain Dembele crashed into each other as they challenged for the ball in Sunday evening’s 1-1 play-off draw.

Timlin left the field covered in blood and needed 15 stitches in a gaping wound above his eye while Dembele was laid out for several minutes receiving treatment. The home defender was eventually able to play on but went off at half-time and had seven stitches.

Corr, whose equaliser cancelled out Dean Parrett’s opener for Stevenage, said: “I was right beside it.

“I said to Tims ‘I’d have pulled out of that’. When you see his head it’s properly cut open.

“Typical Tims – he’s so brave – he was saying to the doctor that he wanted to play on, I don’t think he realised how bad it was. I was saying ‘Tims, you need to go to hospital’.

“That’s his character, he’s whole-hearted, he went in honestly to get the ball. But it was an awful collision, definitely the worst I’ve seen. It hurt me to watch it.”
