Thibaut Courtois claims there is “no doubt” he will stay at Chelsea if the club reward him with a new contract.
The goalkeeper has been the subject of reported interest from Real Madrid with the La Liga giants looking for a new stopper.
Courtois only missed two matches of the Blues’ title-winning season and kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League with 16 shutouts.
The Belgium international’s family still live in Madrid owing to his time on loan at Atletico Madrid, however it seems unlikely that he will be lured elsewhere as he has his heart set on staying at Stamford Bridge.
Instead, the keeper wants the Londoners to show him some commitment by sitting down with him to discuss terms on a new deal.
“Contract talks haven’t opened but I am happy at Chelsea,” said Courtois. “I hope they reward me with a good contract. Then there will be no doubt I will sign it.”
Courtois is still under contract at Chelsea until 2019 and Manchester United’s David de Gea is also thought to be an option for Real.
