Davis: Survival up to us

The Alex beat Coventry 3-1 in the midlands last weekend to ensure that their survival fortunes were in their own hands heading into the final round of fixtures on Sunday.

They are outside the bottom four by two points, but Colchester, Crawley and Notts County could still catch them were they to win their fixtures on Sunday.

Last season a final day 2-1 Gresty Road victory over Preston kept the Railwaymen in the third tier and Davis is eyeing another victory to book a third straight League One campaign.

“We are pleased that the result at Coventry has given us that cushion of two points going into the final game of the season,” Davis told a press conference.

“We are out of the bottom four and it is up to us. We want to be positive again this weekend and look to win the game. We want to do it for us and the fans and we want to do it by ourselves.”
