Defoe ‘still a target’ for West Ham despite Hogan breakthrough
West Ham United could be set to make another approach for Jermain Defoe, providing he asks to leave Sunderland.
This is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim Defoe is still a top target for the East Londoners.
However, in order for the Hammers to go back with an improved bid, he would have to hand in a transfer request.
Recent rumours suggest that West Ham had turned their attention to Brentford’s Scott Hogan, with the Mail also claiming that there had been a breakthrough in talks.
The deal to bring Hogan to the London Stadium is edging nearer as the two teams are getting closer to a agreeing a fee.
The report also claims that West Ham have enquired about Southampton’s Shane Long and seen a bid for Hull winger Robert Snodgrass rejected.
