Mousa Dembele & Harry Kane: Won't face Italians

Mousa Demeble is hoping to achieve something big this season, but the midfielder insists the Tottenham squad will not get “too excited” just yet.

Spurs are nestled in second place, five points behind leaders Leicester with eight games to go, and Mauricio Pochettino has allowed the club’s fans to start dreaming of the title.

Dembele says the players will remain calm as they hunt down the Foxes but the midfielder admits there is a feeling of anticipation in the dressing room.

“You can feel an extra belief and it’s something special,” he said.

“The fans can think about it, the people around can talk about it, but for us it’s simple: week-in week-out, concentrate on the next game. Then we’ll see where we end up. Hopefully, at the end, we notice something big.

“For us, we aim for the highest but the rest, we’ll see. I try not to think too much about it, to be honest.

“We need to stay cool because if we’re going to be too excited, we’re not going to play our own game any more and we can’t afford that.

“So we need to stay focused and calm, game by game.”
