Diego Costa is staying in Brazil and “has no plans” to return to Chelsea for pre-season training, according to a report.
A picture was posted on Instagram from Costa’s brother Jair Costa over the weekend, which showed Costa on the beach with his pals. There was no guarantee just when the picture was taken but it showed Costa enjoying the good life and not on board a plane heading back for London and pre-season training.
According to Marca, Costa, who is angling after a return to Atletico Madrid, is not planning on returning to Cobham and is set to go on strike from training in a bid to force through a transfer.
That however has been contradicted in The Telegraph, who report that the 28-year-old striker has been allowed to miss the start of pre-season by Chelsea, who reached an agreement with his camp that he will have more time off this summer to try to secure a return to Spain.
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has hinted the la Liga club are working on a plan to bring Costa back to the club.
The Spain striker is looking to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after claiming boss Antonio Conte told him by text he was no longer wanted by the Blues
However, any return to Atletico will be complicated as they are unable to register any new players until January 2018 after FIFA’s transfer ban was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Negotiations are ongoing with suggestions that Atletico’s bid of £26million is a long way short of Chelsea’s valuation.
And now Besiktas are understood to have contacted Atletico to get Costa on loan for 6 months before he can play for Atletico in January when their transfer ban expires.

Chelsea though could still take Costa on tour to China and Singapore if he hasn’t signed for Atletico by July 17 when they leave for Asia.
