Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: In reported talks with Man City

Manchester City will have to fork out a British transfer record fee of £65million to land Pierrre-Emerick Aubameyang, Borussia Dortmund are reported to have said.

Recent reports have suggested that City are in ‘advanced talks’ with the Bundesliga outfit to sign the highly-rated Gabon international.

However, according to claims made by the Sunday Mirror, City will have to splash the cash to land their number one target this summer.

Dortmund have said to have quoted big-spending City £65million for the 26-year-old, a fee which would smash the British transfer record currently held by Angel Di Maria’s £59.7million signing for Manchester United.

The reports also claim that the reigning African Player of the Year has been on City’s transfer shopping list for some time and could have even signed for the club three years ago from French side Saint Etienne for just £10million.

It was said though that City decided against a move as Roberto Mancini opted instead to bring Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic to the Etihad instead.

Since signing for Dortmund back in the summer of 2013, the striker has netted 54 goals in 94 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

Man City have already made one signing from Dortmund this summer by bringing in midfielder Ilkay Gundogan for around £20million and are now looking set to make another one with Aubameyang.
