A source in France is claiming that Leicester star Riyad Mahrez will have a medical at Liverpool today ahead of a £49million transfer.
According to beIN Sports, Liverpool will immediately spend part of the £142million fee they are set to receive for the sale of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
The 26-year-old won Player of the Year as Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes won the Premier League in 2016, but he has been wanting to leave ever since.
Mahrez came close to joining Arsenal last season but the deal fell through, but now the French broadcaster is adamant that the Algerian is on the verge of a big move and will sign a four-and-a-half year deal on Sunday.

However, Sky Sports have claimed that the Reds have no interest in signing the Leicester star.
While Jurgen Klopp is in the market for a new attacking option to replace Coutinho, it is thought that Mahrez would cost more than the £49million being reported, and Liverpool are not interested.
The PA reporter Carl Markham concurs with that and says Liverpool have told Leicester they have no interest in Mahrez and the speculation is “complete fabrication”.
