Eric Dier has signed a new five-year deal to keep him at Tottenham until the summer of 2021.
Dier becomes the latest in a long line of Tottenham stars to recently pledge his future to the club, with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane and Dele Alli all signing long-term deals with the club. Kyle Walker is soon expected to follow suit.
England international Dier arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2014 from Sporting Lisbon for a reported £4million.
He scored the winning goal on his debut as Spurs beat West Ham 1-0 on the opening game of the 2014/16 season and has gone on to make 87 appearances for the north London outfit.
Dier helped Tottenham to Champions League qualification last season, featuring in all but one game as Spurs achieved a third-place finish in the Premier League.
Spurs signed him as a natural defender but manager Mauricio Pochettino has transformed the 22-year-old into a defensive midfielder, where he plays for both club and country.
A Tottenham statement read: “We are delighted to announce that Eric Dier has signed a new contract with the club which will run until 2021.”
