ROMA HOPING TO LAND CITY MIDFIELDER NASRI
Roma have turned their attention to Manchester City misfit Samir Nasri after losing interest in Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
Corriere della Sera claims that Leicester City were demanding a €40million (£35.7m) fee for the Algerian, which is more than the Serie A side are willing to pay.
The Italian side will instead focus on Nasri, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla and is not thought to be part of Pep Guardiola’s plans going forward.
Roma’s sporting director Monchi took Nasri to Sevilla last summer and the club will be hoping he can pull off another deal.
MAN UNITED PREPARING BID FOR VERRATTI?
Jose Mourinho has been in touch with Marco Verratti’s representatives about a possible move from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United, according to reports.
Tuttosport claims that the Red Devils boss has been in contact after the Italian international switched his agent to Mino Raiola, who brokered deals to United for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.
Elsewhere, Calciomercato reports that United will test PSG’s resolve with a £70million bid for the 24-year-old with the Red Devils confident they can get a deal done.
Earlier reports had suggested that PSG would only do a deal if United involved Anthony Martial as part of the transfer but, with United keen to keep the Frenchman, they will be hoping the cash offer will be enough.
Barcelona are thought to be Verratti’s first choice but it’s understood Raiola could tempt him to make the move to Old Trafford.
