Julian Draxler: Had interest from Arsenal

Also, Tottenham appear to have missed out on another target, and Man Utd given Bale hope, according to today’s European papers.

DRAXLER CONSIDERED TO REPLACE NEYMAR AT BARCELONA

Julian Draxler is being considered as a possible replacement for Neymar by Barcelona, according to the Bild.

Draxler’s agent has been spotted in Barcelona, and is reported to be discussing a move to the Catalan capital.

The German international moved to Paris Saint-Germain for €42 million in January, but is one of the players who is seen as being threatened by Neymar’s arrival in the French capital.

Draxler, 23, scored four goals for the Parisians in Ligue 1 action last season, attesting to his immediate impact.

CHELSEA SHOW SURPRISE BALE INTEREST

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Gareth Bale from Chelsea, according to reports in Spain.

Bale has often appeared unsettled in Madrid, and has been persistently linked with Manchester United over the last year.

However, despite the reports, any deal with Chelsea would appear to be unlikely.

Real Madrid have reportedly told Bale he is “the future of the club” and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has appeared to rule out Chelsea making ‘Galactico’ style signings while responding to Neymar’s world record move to PSG.

KLOPP SANCTIONS COUTINHO SALE

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sanctioned a €100million deal to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, claim le10Sport.

The Catalonia-based newspaper report that Klopp has given his blessing to the deal, which would see the Brazilian become Barcelona’s record signing.

Coutinho has been linked with Barca for some time, but that speculation has intensified since Neymar’s shock departure to PSG.

If the report is to be believed, Coutinho is expected to complete the switch by the middle of this week.

CHELSEA AND MAN UTD MOVE FOR BARCELONA ACE

Manchester United and Chelsea are both prepared to meet the £36million buy-out clause in the contract of Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto.

The 25-year-old has been on the radar of both clubs for some time, but a lack of regular first team football at the Nou Cmap may see him move on this summer.

Chelsea, according to the report in Don Balon, have the stronger interest, as they try to assemble a squad capable of competing in both the Premier League and Champions League again.
