Euro Paper Talk: Chelsea point star to exit; Man Utd defender blow

Arsenal are preparing a €40m move for a Nice midfielder, while Man Utd have some real competition in their bid to sign Serge Aurier, all in today’s Euro papers.

CHELSEA WANT STRIKER SALE

Chelsea are hoping to sell Diego Costa to AC Milan, after steering the Italian giants away from a loan deal, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Milan have spent heavily this summer trying to recapture their former glory, and are hoping to top it off with a marquee striker signing before the deadline.

That has led them to wantaway striker Diego Costa, though he was understood to prefer a loan deal so he would be free to re-join former club Atletico Madrid in January once their transfer ban is over.

Chelsea, though, are reluctant to keep him on the books until January, fearing he will be a disruptive influence, and are trying to push him towards a switch to Serie A on a permanent deal this summer.

ARSENAL READY TO MAKE SERI BID

Arsenal are pondering making a move for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to ESPN FC.

Arsene Wenger has added just Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette so far this summer and 26-year-old Seri could join them before the end of the month.

The report claims Arsenal ave been scouting the player over the last 12 months, but a deal could depend on whether the club make it through the qualifying stage of the Champions League.

Seri amassed a combined 16 goals and assists in 34 league appearances last term in Ligue 1, leading to links with Tottenham and Swansea.

According to L’Equipe last week, Nice have agreed to let Seri leave this summer, but only for a €40m price tag.

They reported Arsenal were showing “real interest” in the player, who was also interesting Serie A club Roma, but not at Nice’s asking price.

OFFER LODGED FOR MARTINEZ

An unnamed English club have made an offer to Liverpool and Manchester City target Inigo Martinez, according to a report in Spain.

AS claim the 26-year-old has been in talks with an English club, who are ready to trigger his release clause, and have made him a “lucrative offer”.

Inter Milan have apparently been tracking the defender, but Liverpool and City are also tracking his situation.

The Real Sociedad man has a €30million release clause, but the la Liga club want him to stay.

Martinez, who has been capped for Spain four times, is contracted to Sociedad until 2021.

ARSENAL HAVE RIVALS FOR CUADRADO

AC Milan and Roma are reportedly the latest clubs to show an interest in Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado.

Arsenal and Inter Milan have registered an interest in the former Chelsea winger, but they will now face competition from the Serie A duo, according to La Stampa.

Juve are ready to cash in on the Colombia wideman and they have placed a £26.8million price tag on the 29-year-old, who is contracted in Turin until 2020.
