Euro Paper Talk: Alisson wants Liverpool; Arsenal eye French defender

Liverpool have been given a big boost after a major summer target hinted at a move, while Real Madrid have failed with a €65m move for a Manchester United linked midfielder, according to Thursday’s European papers.

ALISSON LEANING TOWARDS ROMA EXIT

Liverpool have been given a massive boost by news that Roma goalkeeper Alisson will likely reject all offers of a new deal from the Giallorossi.

The Reds have made the Brazilian one of their top targets this summer and reports in the Italian press claim the keeper will do all he can to try and force through a summer move to Anfield.

Alisson’s €1.5million-a-year deal with Roma expires in 2021 and despite his amazing performances this season the Serie A giants are yet to open new contract talks with their star.

However, talks are pencilled in soon and it’s claimed Roma want to offer the man described as the “Lionel Messi of goalkeepers” a new deal that would see his buy-out raised to €80m (£71m).

But Tuttosport claims Alisson has already informed the club he has no intention of signing a new deal in an effort to force his departure from the club this summer.

The paper claims the Brazilian is well aware of the Reds’ interest and says Roma could be forced into accepting a bid of around €65m (£57.7m) this summer with the club desperate to raise funds and keep their books in order before June 30.

Il Gazzetta dello Sport, meanwhile, claims Liverpool saw a €45m (£40m) offer for Alisson rejected in January and gives the Reds a good chance of sealing the deal in the summer; that’s despite claims that Real Madrid are also monitoring the 25-year-old with a view to launching a summer swoop.
